Layer mash is a complete, balanced feed for laying hens, providing essential protein, energy, vitamins, and extra calcium for strong shells, usually starting around 18-20 weeks when they begin laying eggs. It’s a coarse, loose feed (unlike pellets) with ingredients like maize, soya, and limestone, designed to support high egg production, large eggs, and healthy hens, with typical consumption around 100-140g per bird daily, plus constant fresh water.
